‘Barbie’s’ Viral ‘I’m Just Ken’ Song Gets Humorous Behind-The-Scenes Music Video

With Barbie raking in US$1.28 billion at the box office, it’s no secret that the feminist film has captured attention around the globe. And for those who have watched it, the matter-of-fact, expressionless deliveries of the characters are what truly make the show amusing.
In response to fans’ queries about what it was really like to capture those scenes behind the camera, Atlantic Records recently released the music video to the movie’s viral hit, I’m Just Ken.
Performed by Ryan Gosling, the spot features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage on set, allowing a sneak peek into the actors’ guffaws off-screen. With over 13 million monthly listeners on Spotify, it’s safe to say the tune itself is a hit.
Director Greta Gerwig is involved in the shenanigans, too, in disbelief that her job consists of filming a group of Kens harmonizing in a recording booth. Production assistants join in to throw tennis balls while other cast members sing and dance in the background.
While it’s unclear if there’ll ever be a full documentary made of the film, it’s certain that the director, cast, and crew have captured hearts away from the camera just as well as they have on it.
