Meta’s Threads Finally Arrives On Desktop, Removing Need To Download An App

The glaringly absent web version of Threads is now ready after Meta launched the mobile app last month. This move makes Threads more accessible by eliminating the need for a separate app.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, announced the new addition via a post on his account of him sitting in his dorm “working” on developing Threads.
Threads burst onto the scene with a bang, welcoming 100 million new users within its first week. The platform offered itself up as a solution to X’s (formerly Twitter) tumultuous and ever-changing landscape, which has since alienated advertisers and users alike.
Threads, unlike its sibling Instagram, provides services similar to X as it is centered around text blogging. New updated features to the site now let users repost and like each other’s posts.
Despite an outcry from avid Twitter users that they needed a new platform to flock to, the subsequent weeks saw a marked decline in Threads’ daily active users, plummeting from a peak of 49 million to a modest 13 million.
However, with a new wave of changes to X, including Elon Musk removing the “block” feature, could people flock back to Threads and give it a second chance?
