You can squint all you want, but that red-and-white striped shirt will be nowhere to be found in Diesel’s dizzying new campaign for its Fall/Winter 2023 collection. Instead, its brand colors and woven among a chaotic mish-mash of denim details.
Overseen by the clothing label’s creative director Glenn Martens and art director Chris Simmonds, and lensed by photographer Johnny Dufort, this wild spin on Where’s Waldo?—called Find the D—places real-life characters in the main square of the Diesel HQ’s hometown, Breganze, Italy.
The “irreverent, adults-only play on children’s puzzle game books,” as described by Diesel, features a crowd consisting of hundreds of Diesel employees and models, and even founder Renzo Rosso. The extensive cast forms their own little world while dressed in denim items from the biker darts, cargo, and coated ranges, along with pre-fall and F/W runway garments, neutral-toned utilitarian wear, and velvet separates. Styling was led by Ursina Gysi.

The village comes alive as characters scale up a denim-hued climbing wall, engage in a wrestling match, and slide down a bouncy castle.
“It’s all in the D-tails,” the brand teases. “Instead of following a single cartoonish character on his travels and travails, we discover many who inhabit the land of Diesel.”
Emulating the rewarding sensation of finding your target in a puzzle of hidden objects, Diesel is assembling players to “find the D” in exchange for real prizes, Hypebeast reports. Over the next couple of months, customers will be challenged to locate specific objects within the shoot to win Diesel products, including sneakers, fragrances, sunglasses, and, er, adult toys.
