Aldi Hijacks Nando’s Location With ‘Nan Goes’ Ads Promoting Its Own Piri Piri

The next time you walk past a Nando’s outlet, look up—there could be an Aldi digital van hiding in plain sight.
The grocery store has recently taken to trolling the restaurant chain with tongue-in-cheek billboards promoting its own piri piri marinated chicken.
Witty slogans, including the likes of “Nan goes to Aldi for her piri piri chicken,” are presented alongside a picture of a heartwarming grandmother showing off her delicious meal.

As The Drum pointed out, Aldi has had a knack in the past for taking its promotions directly to competitors. Last year, it parked signs outside Marks & Spencer stores when the courts ruled the supermarket could bring its Cuthbert cakes back.
