Freezing your leftovers is a known way to stretch your dollar, but the way to do it is often easier said than done. Who among us hasn’t had soup or sauce seep onto the counter when we’re pouring it into food storage bags?

Ziploc may have resealed its role as the go-to name for sandwich and freezer bags. The brand has equipped its quintessential products with a ‘Stay Open Design’ that makes messes a thing of the past. No more crying over spilled… gravy.

The all-new design sports a cuffed opening that can be folded down, creating more space at the mouth to fill into.

Another addition is the cross-hatched, stand-up design on the base, which secures the bag firmly to the surface while you pour this evening’s hearty stew into it.

Ziploc likens the entire experience to having “an extra set of hands” open the bag for you. It decided to revise its design after hearing users’ pleas for a more stable solution and coming across numerous kitchen hacks to make sandwich bags easier to use.

Of course, the zip-top bags retain the company’s freshness-preserving ‘Grip n’ Seal’ technology to stave off freezer burns, and are also microwave-safe and BPA-free.

The new Ziploc design, which first rolled out in July, is now easily available at major retailers such as Amazon and Walmart.
