Nike is the next to kick up attention with larger-than-life objects seemingly interacting with the real world, running in the same playing field as L’Oréal Paris’ giant lipstick that literally paints the town red and Maybelline New York’s train-beautifying mascara.
In this sports edition to the CGI bandwagon, Nike and Chelsea FC have seemingly hung the soccer team’s new jersey over the Tower Bridge in London.
This stunning, photorealistic animation was put together by video production company The Berry, who created a lifelike model of the club’s Nike Third Kit using a series of photographs captured in similar lighting to the gloomy Tower Bridge setting and then stitched together on Photoshop.
The digital replica was then convincingly positioned into the scene using Houdini’s native physics engine, and then edited to match the environment’s wind speed, direction, and turbulence.
The 2023/24 shirt, splashed in Chelsea’s Eton Blue, is depicted gently waving in the wind to reflect “The Pride of London.”
