McDonald’s is sharing some food for thought and reminding the public to dispose of wrappers where they should be.
Taking a break from parading its burgers and fries, the fast-food chain’s Malta arm is instead utilizing its recognizable branding for good and envisioning its packaging in the natural habitat of a customer in an anti-litter campaign. The vibrant out-of-home campaign, featuring McDonald’s fries holder, soda cup, and McFlurry packaging, was created by advertising agency TBWA\ANG and photographed by Stephen Galea, and urges fans to “love where you live.”
The visuals underline the double standards of eaters who are consistent with keeping their homes spick and span, but continue to toss out food wrappers on the streets when they should be recycling them. The prints also represent McDonald’s in Malta’s commitment to promote sorting out trash and recycling.
“Just as we wouldn’t throw a used takeaway cup into our home aquarium, we should also show the same respect for nature, as it is our home too,” describes TBWA\ANG.
