As the fashion world eagerly awaits the Spring/Summer 2024 edition of Paris Fashion Week, more than 50 garments from Balmain’s new collection have vanished into the hands of daring perpetrators during a robbery.
The heist unfolded just prior to the fashion show when a delivery truck met an untimely hijacking. Balmain’s artistic director, Olivier Rousteing, confirmed the loss, emphasizing that the stolen items disappeared alongside the truck during transit from the airport to the company’s central Paris headquarters.

Thankfully, the truck driver emerged from the ordeal unscathed. Rousteing, while expressing his frustration, pledged that Balmain and its dedicated suppliers would spare no effort in reproducing the pilfered creations.
Balmain, among the illustrious lineup of over 100 participating brands at Paris Fashion Week, shares the stage with iconic French fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Dior. According to CNN, the company’s show remains on schedule, set to grace the runway on September 27.
The fashion community rallied behind Balmain, with messages of support pouring in from industry luminaries like Donatella Versace. However, Rousteing has maintained a tight-lipped stance, revealing no further details about the contents of the eagerly anticipated collection.
