Burberry Takes Over London With Its Brand & Colors For Fashion Week

Burberry is set to take over the iconic Norman’s cafe in Archway, London, just ahead of its London Fashion Week and Daniel Lee’s sophomore show, in a brewing between fashion and gastronomy.

Norman’s, a culinary venture born during the COVID lockdowns of 2019, is far from conventional. It delights in playful renditions of classic greasy spoon fare, elevating staples like fried egg and chips, sausage and mash, and beans on toast to new haute couture heights.

This café endeavor serves as the inaugural act of Burberry Streets, a creative initiative revolving around Lee’s signature Burberry blue. Alongside the café, the project introduces a mobile food truck and plates adorned with Burberry motifs. The fashion house has also taken over Bond Street Station and has even renamed the Tube stop after itself, leaving many rather confused about the move.

Burberry Streets will prominently feature the ‘Knight Blue’ hue, a nod to the brand’s equestrian logo, woven into the city’s fabric. Chalk stencils of the ‘Equestrian Knight’ symbol will grace pathways and parks, while black taxis will proudly display Lee’s ‘English Rose’ print.

As the takeover coincides with the launch of Lee’s Autumn/Winter 2023 collection, available both in stores and online, it also extends its embrace to the revamped Burberry New Bond Street store.

The fashion show itself will unfurl in the picturesque backdrop of Highbury Fields in North London.
