With the festive season just around the corner, KFC Japan recently unveiled a special addition to its menu: Ninniku Crispy. Made for theholidays, this new offering is specifically crafted to be enjoyed alongside beer and other alcoholic beverages.
The flavor of the chicken builds upon the signature Colonel’s Crispy recipe, now infused with extra garlic and soy sauce flavoring, topped off with a garlic-flavored oil sauce coating.
According to the brand, early prototypes of the dish gave off an overpowering raw garlic flavor, but after much trial and error, the final product promises a flavorful yet harmonious blend that doesn’t overwhelm the taste buds.
Those looking to try the dish can snag a ‘Cheers Bucket’, otherwise known as the Kanpai Barrel.
Priced at 1,680 yen (US$11.20), the limited-edition item includes three pieces of Ninniku Crispy alongside four pieces of the beloved Original Recipe fried chicken, allowing diners the garlic-infused delight of the Ninniku Crispy while enjoying the classic taste of KFC’s Original Recipe.
