If you’ve ever been sold by the promise of epic battles, over-the-top challenges, and jaw-dropping graphics, only to end up installing a completely different game, you’re not alone. Those Games, developed by Japan-based D3 Publisher and Monkeycraft, is flipping the bizarre universe of misleading, exaggerated commercials on its head into actual mini-games you can play. Already a hit on Nintendo Switch and Steam, Those Games is now making its way to PlayStation consoles.
Officially known as ‘Yeah! You Want ‘Those Games,’ Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let’s See You Clear Them!’, Those Games is an anthology satirizing those ludicrous scenarios that show up in mobile gaming advertisements but never in the real thing. It features a whopping 250 stages, from car-positioning puzzles to tower strategy and color-matching liquid challenges, and a room puzzle where you guide a stickman to treasure by pulling the right pin—just like in those phonies.

Those Games keeps things fresh with monthly ranking leaderboards for each mini-title. Earn coins, and try your luck on the ‘Gotcha!’ machine to unlock plates and titles to personalize your in-game experience. Unlike typical mobile games, Those Games doesn’t support real-money transactions in its gacha system. It’s all about having a good time and laugh, really.

The mini-game collection has landed on PlayStation 4 and 5, on top of the Nintendo Switch and Steam, and is priced at US$9.99. Who knew scammy games would hold the key to some lighthearted fun?
