Balenciaga is trying to make you look like a snack (pardon the Gen Z slang) again. Following its hype-worthy, Lay’s-inspired bags in 2022, the Spanish luxury house has decided to double down on the crunch and is now making its own house-brand potato chip bags to complete your grocery run look.

This time, the Chips Bags swap out the Lay’s logo for Balenciaga’s own, serving up a trio of colorways in red, yellow, and blue to correspond with spicy chili, cheese and onion, and salt and vinegar flavors.

Crafted from glossy calfskin to mimic the look of crinkled snack packaging, these ‘Maxi Packs’ will make walking down the (supermarket) aisle a stylish affair. Remarkably, a faux nutrition facts label on the back notes that each serving contains 110 calories—a bit rich for a bag literally filled with air.

Priced at US$1,750 a pop, these are by no means single-use holders. They’re meant for your daily essentials, but try not to leave chip grease stains on their luxe inner TPU mirror lining. Each bag shines with aged-silver hardware and features a zipped closure that opens to reveal a main compartment.
Often paying homage to everyday items, Balenciaga has been recreating snacks of late. For its Fall 2024 collection, the fashion house gave out invites resembling Mars or Snickers protein bars.
