MSCHF is just about to toe the line with its new 2x4 Boot, an exaggerated and humorous take on the iconic Timberland design, with some influences from Louis Vuitton.
Crafted entirely from gum rubber, the silhouette boasts a supersized upper that wouldn’t look out of place in a video game, thanks to its pixelated detailing. Going further, the shoe’s eyelets and toe box appear to mimic the Louis Vuitton blossom pattern, a detail that might spark memories of Pharrell Williams’ design.

“The 2x4s are all sole,” the Brooklyn art rebels explain. The boot’s tread, rather than staying put underfoot, climbs its way up through the boot’s body. It’s also “built to stomp some curbs,” they add.

These brazen “Timbs,” as Highsnobiety calls them, are set to make their entrance on March 19, carrying a price tag of US$400 on the MSCHF website and MSCHF Sneakers app. For anyone who wants to make a statement in the outdoors, and maybe kick down a few doors, these might be for you.
