Charlie Bit Me just got an automotive reboot, it seems. Tesla Cybertruck owner Jeremy Judkins found himself in a tight spot—literally—when his finger got chomped by the vehicle’s front trunk, often referred to as the “frunk.”
Judkins, known for his Tesla enthusiasm online, decided to put the Cybertruck's recently updated frunk sensors to the test, which Tesla claimed would be more sensitive to obstructions, preventing the frunk from shutting on unsuspecting fingers.
Previously, Judkins discovered that while a banana got a free pass, the frunk chopped off the tip of a carrot. He decided to give the feature a test-drive after Elon Musk’s automaker rolled out a fix.
The latest Tesla Cybertruck update is supposed to make the frunk safer.

According to the release notes:
"The powered frunk can better detect obstructions just before it finishes closing."

After using his own arm and hand, he was relieved to learn that the frunk only delivered a light squeeze in both cases, leaving a minor mark on his hand.
However, things went south when Judkins placed his trust (and finger) in the frunk one last time. Unlike the groceries, his finger didn’t trigger the sensor. The frunk clamped down with surprising force, holding him captive and panicked until he managed to wiggle free. The ordeal left Judkins shaken and with a sore, indented finger as a souvenir.
Tesla instructs owners to keep appendages and belongings clear of the closing frunk, so be warned—no pinky promises they’ll live to recount such experiments.
