Victoria’s Secret’s iconic fashion show, known for its glittering lingerie displays and celebrity musical performances, is taking wing after a five-year hiatus.
On Wednesday, the intimates brand announced via Instagram that the annual extravaganza, last held in 2018, will officially make a comeback later this year. Its social media post playfully acknowledges the anticipation, stating, “We’ve read the comments and heard you.”
The show’s return marks a significant milestone for the brand, which has faced criticism in the past for its lack of inclusivity. Cancelled in 2019, Victoria’s Secret has since undergone a transformation to regain relevance with a wider audience. This included overhauling its image and featuring a more diverse range of body-positive models in its campaigns, as well as redesigning its undergarments to uplift women’s natural body shapes.
The brand promises a show that reflects its modern identity while retaining the iconic elements fans know and love: “the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more!” The revival arrives as the body positivity movement, advocating self-acceptance regardless of body type, reaches a pivotal moment.
While a specific date remains under wraps, Victoria’s Secret has confirmed the show’s return for Fall 2024.
