These are new waters for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. Traditionally confined to pages, the brand is now expanding its reach by offering fans a wearable piece of its history.
“Throughout its 60-year history, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit franchise has celebrated the beauty of women from all walks of life, inspiring confidence, and redefining beauty norms,” explains Christina Shanahan, senior vice president of entertainment marketing at Authentic, which owns the intellectual property rights to Sports Illustrated. “This new swimwear collection is a natural extension of what we’ve seen on the pages for decades, and we’re excited to offer our vibrant community and new fans alike, another way to engage with the brand.”

In 2019, Meredith Corporation, the then-owner of Sports Illustrated, sold the entire empire—encompassing Sports Illustrated itself, Sports Illustrated Kids, Sportsperson of the Year, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, and its vast photo archive—to Authentic Brands Group (ABG) for US$110 million.
The swimsuit selection is now available to shop on Amazon, just in time for summer.
