Move over, Lassie; there’s a new four-legged hero in town, and he’s leveling up in the gaming world.

The four-legged genius first made waves in January when he conquered the 1985 classic, Gyromite, during a charity marathon hosted by Games Done Quick, subsequently making history by becoming the first dog to speedrun a video game during a charity marathon. With his human sidekick, speedrunner JSR, by his side, Peanut Butter used his paws as controllers, guiding the game’s hero through a pixelated adventure. It was a curious display of canine coordination, earning him the title of “Goodest Boy” and a cool US $20,000 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Then, on July 4, Peanut Butter returned to the virtual battlefield, this time supporting Doctors Without Borders. As part of the Summer Games Done Quick 2024 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Shiba sensation tackled a new challenge: a baseball game on the Super Nintendo. With focused determination, he navigated the digital diamond.

Training Peanut Butter wasn’t too difficult as he’s a smart boy, his human told IGN in January. However, pooches have the attention span of a toddler, so it took a year of consistent training and snacks for the fluffy pro gamer to eventually nurture his gifts.
