Dolce & Gabbana has unleashed Fefé, its first-ever fragrance for dogs. Inspired by cofounder Domenico Dolce’s deep affection for his canine companion, this unique scent aims to add a touch of luxury to Fido’s grooming routine.
For the princely sum of €99 (US$108), you can now envelop your canine companion in a cloud of Ylang Ylang, Musk, and Sandalwood through this alcohol-free scented mist, which is designed to be applied either by hand or brush, starting from the middle of the dog's body and working towards the tail. Pet owners are advised to avoid the nose area when spritzing directly.
Initially launching in Europe and the US, with plans for wider distribution, Fefé comes packaged in a stylish green lacquered glass bottle.

The container features a bold red metal cap and is adorned with a 24-carat gold-plated paw emblem.

The fashion house has taken steps to ensure Fefé’s safety, obtaining Safe Pet Cosmetics certification and veterinary approval. According to the company, 90% of testers also reported that the scent lasted on their dogs throughout the day.
However, not everyone is wagging their tail in approval. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has raised concerns about the potential impact of artificial fragrances on dogs’ sensory experiences.
In a statement to The Guardian, a spokesperson for the charity explained that strong scents can confuse pooches and affect their ability to communicate and navigate their world, since they rely heavily on their noses.
Further, pet owners’ inclination of anthropomorphizing pets and using products originally designed for humans might not be in their best interest, the RSPCA warned.
So, while Fefé might turn heads at the dog park, it’s important to also consider your furry friend’s perspective before going spritz-crazy on your Spitz.
