Ready to pin down your next big trend for 2025? Pinterest has just dropped its annual trend report, Pinterest Predicts, and this year, it looks like everyone is going maximalist with bold decor choices and statement fashion.

Take a look at some things to look out for in the year ahead, and check out the full trend forecast here.

For homes

Terra Futura—sustainable rebellion at home

Boomers and Gen X are leading a new movement toward eco-friendly living, giving rise to a trend called Terra Futura. Picture solar punk houses, self-sufficient gardens, and eco-chic recyclable fashion. The idea is to rebel with a purpose, and searches for terms like “solar punk house” and “chaos gardening” are already soaring. Sustainable living just got a maximalist makeover.

Primary Play—color outside the lines

The inner child is escaping into the world of color in 2025. Gen Z and Gen X are taking primary colors to furniture, adding funky murals to walls, and breathing life into dull cupboards. Think playful trim contrasts and bold strokes—it’s all about creating bright, joyous spaces where creativity flourishes.

Mix & Maximalist—more is more

Forget minimalism. For 2025, it’s all about mixing vibrant patterns, daring prints, and tactile textures. Gen X and Boomers are doubling down on the layering trend—eclectic styles are in, and there’s no such thing as too much when it comes to decor. The more colors, the better.

Fashion

Seeing Double—matching bestie outfits

It’s not just twins who get to match. Best friends everywhere are leaning into coordinated looks for 2025. From festivals to date nights, people are syncing their styles to make memories together—but make it chic. Rather than copying, it’s about collaborating, and it’s hitting all generations from Gen Z to Boomers.

Fisherman Aesthetic—go fish

There’s a new wave washing over fashion, and it’s all things maritime. Gen Z and Gen X are falling for the fisherman aesthetic, complete with striped tops, cable-knit sweaters, and even sardine tattoos—yes, sardine tattoos. If nautical vibes speak to you, this laid-back style might be your catch of the day.

Moto Boho—leather meets fringe

Think biker attitude meets bohemian flair. Gen Z and Boomers are rocking chunky leather bags, fringed skirts, moto boots, and flowy garments. Moto Boho is the new relaxed-yet-edgy look that’s set to replace the old-school hippie vibe.

Across mediums

Cherry Coded—a sweet touch everywhere

Cherries are making a splash in 2025, from fashion to home decor. Gen Z and Millennials are using cherries as a key motif in their makeup, design, and even their cars. Searches for “cherry martini” and “cherry vibe” suggest that cherry-coded styles are the new definition of sweet and sassy.

Dolled Up—a whimsical world

People are embracing whimsy with babydoll-inspired aesthetics. From cutesy room designs to pastel necklace charms, everything’s getting a playful, dollhouse vibe. If it’s tiny, colorful, and playful, it’s in. Expect to see a lot of babydoll makeup and dollhouse decor this coming year.

Castlecore—medieval makeover

Gen Z and Millennials are heading to medieval times for inspiration—we’re talking gothic styles, castle-themed home decor, and antique accessories. “Antique ruby rings” and “blue medieval dress” are trending search terms as Pinterest users look to capture the magic of ancient castles in their modern lives.

Nesting Parties—baby showers with a twist

Baby showers are getting a functional update with nesting parties. Instead of just bringing gifts, friends help expecting parents prep for the arrival—think freezer meals, diaper bouquets, and home organization. Millennials and Gen Z are shaking up the traditional shower and making it more about practical support.

Celebrations

Rococo Revival—vintage glam for celebrations

Expect to see weddings and celebrations take on the opulent Rococo vibe of Marie Antoinette. Corset gowns, ornate tablescapes, and luxurious accessories are in. Gen Z and Boomers are giving this ultra-feminine and vintage style a 2025 revival—and it’s bound to be grand.

Surreal Soirees—party with an edge

For a more whimsical touch, surrealism is coming to parties in 2025. Curved candlesticks, gravity-defying centerpieces, and strange floral arrangements are taking over tablescapes. Gen X and Boomers are loving the Salvador Dalí-esque aesthetics, creating scenes that feel like a dream.
