LEGO is giving Star Wars Day a charming twist that’s less Wookie, more woodblock. In celebration of both Star Wars Day and Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan, the toymaker is releasing an adorable collection of posters that bring the galaxy far, far away into the world of ukiyo-e, the classical Japanese art style best known for its expressive lines and scenic compositions.
The artwork, illustrated by Irish artist Seán Donnan, takes familiar characters from the Star Wars universe and drops them into traditionally inspired Japanese landscapes akin to the Great Wave scenes portrayed by Katsushika Hokusai. Unveiled during Star Wars Celebration at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, the four-print Star Wars Japan Vacation Posters set spans all four seasons.
Spring features Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker taking in cherry blossoms, with Vader using his lightsaber for a spot of unorthodox teapot warming.
Summer follows Rogue One duo K-2SO and Jyn Erso enjoying a festival moment together, sharing dango (sweet rice dumplings) on a lakeside bridge under a fireworks display.
For fall, Grogu rides in style on a wooden cart pulled by the Mandalorian, surrounded by falling leaves.
And winter rounds out the series with a pair of Stormtroopers building a snowman version of Darth Vader.
These stunning posters represent one of the more artful ways the franchise continues to bring new perspectives to a well-worn (and well-loved) universe. Art lovers can claim them through LEGO’s Insiders rewards center, available free of charge until May 5, 2025, while supplies last. Signing up for Insiders is free and grants access to special offers and early product previews.
