Balenciaga is once again flipping fashion conventions on their head—this time from the bottom up with a skirt that masquerades as a pair of boxer briefs, minus the crotch.
Dubbed the Cut Off Brief Skirt, the piece debuted on the Fall/Winter 2025 runway and has since triggered a mix of curiosity and confusion. Dressed to mimic the silhouette of men’s underwear, the hybrid garment plays with perception in true Demna fashion.

Manufactured in Portugal and made from stretch cotton jersey with a touch of elastane, the satirical skirt molds to the body while keeping a deliberately raw, unfinished edge. Its faded hue and mid-rise Balenciaga-branded elastic waistband add to the illusion. The silhouette takes clear cues from male boxer briefs but strips them of their original function, reimagining them as outerwear with a wink and a shrug.

The skirt is priced at US$550 and available in three sizes of XS through M.
