Heinz thinks your french fry boxes deserve a second look, and another dip. In its latest campaign, Looks Familiar, the brand leans on a simple truth that fries and ketchup go together like, well, fries and ketchup.
The rollout outlines how food packaging around the world is shaped like its iconic Keystone logo, almost as though agreeing that fries don’t just need any condiment, they need Heinz.
This campaign stretches across eight international markets including the US, UK, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the UAE, and China. Out-of-home ads, long-form video, shoppable digital content, and paid pushes across Instagram, TikTok, and X are being used to drive the message. The production was steered by Rethink, with social media handled by The Kitchen. PR support came from Zeno Group, while Carat oversaw paid media, helping the campaign reach audiences across both traditional and digital channels.

“While we don’t know who designed the first french fry box, it’s certain they must have been a big Heinz fan,” teases Nina Patel, vice president of the global Heinz brand at the Kraft Heinz Company.
“Fry boxes could come in any shape—but without exception, we see boxes around the world all in the shape of the Heinz Keystone,” adds Mike Dubrick, CCO and partner at Rethink. “It’s one thing to say ‘It has to be HEINZ,’ it’s another thing to prove it.”
Partnering with Uber Eats, Heinz is offering customers in select markets half off a bottle of ketchup with their orders. In Los Angeles, Carl’s Jr is sweetening the deal by giving away fries and Heinz Ketchup with orders of $30 or more, while supplies last. These activations build on the campaign’s premise by making sure the brand’s ketchup is close at hand whenever fries show up.
Heinz points to the sheer scale of global fry consumption as the backdrop for the initiative. French fries remain the most ordered food item on Uber Eats worldwide and appear on more than half of restaurant menus globally. Looks Familiar acknowledges how deeply fries are woven into everyday eating habits and how closely Heinz has been tied to that ritual.
Heinz is also working with influencers and earned media to spotlight the uncanny resemblance between fry boxes and its keystone logo, reinforcing a connection that consumers may not have consciously noticed but already felt.

The initiative also serves as the next step in the company’s global creative strategy. Following the It Has To Be Heinz platform introduced in 2023, Looks Familiar continues the brand’s effort to unify messaging across markets and celebrate the emotional bond fans feel toward its products. With Heinz hidden in plain sight all along, the company is using a subtle wink to reaffirm its spot alongside one of the world’s favorite foods.
