As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepare for their departure from the British royal family, reports have suggested their potential back-up plans post-“Megxit”, including a deal with Disney. Their exit also means they’ll be able to make money from their social media presence.

Influencer marketing platform Inzpire.me has crunched the numbers for how much Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could potentially earn from their shared Instagram account with a following of 11.2 million users after leaving their royal statuses.

It predicts that the couple could fetch as high as £85,271.19 (US$110,329) per sponsored Instagram post, despite them allegedly no longer being able to use the “Sussex Royal” name.

The company made the projection by studying the @SussexRoyal Instagram account’s following and expansion. Since the couple’s announcement to leave the family, their Instagram following has skyrocketed, according to Inzpire’s COO Marie Mostad.

In contrast, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s @KensingtonRoyal account is only expected to earn just £40,744.97 (US$52,720) per Instagram post if it were to be monetized.

It looks like Harry and Meghan won’t really be feeling the pinch from leaving their royal status. The couple received criticism in the past for seemingly advertising for-profit businesses on social media. However, the palace defended that the couple was simply advocating causes they cared about.
