Jimmy Kimmel Smells Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Vagina’ Candle & His Reaction Is Fishy

Jimmy Kimmel took one for the team and sniffed what Gwyneth Paltrow’s controversial Goop candle smelled like.
During a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel invited Paltrow on his show, and they had a conversation about Goop’s vagina-scented candle on air. The US$75 ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’ candle made headlines recently and sold out instantly, as it teased a “funny, gorgeous, sexy and unexpected” scent claiming to resemble that of a woman’s genitals.
Paltrow explained to Kimmel about the origin of her candle’s name, describing that she and her friend were taking a whiff of different fragrances when she smelled one that she thought was “like [her] vagina.”
“But then I was like, ‘Wouldn’t that be cool if somebody actually had the guts to do that [and put the name on a candle]?’ What a punk rock, feminist statement to have that on your table,” she said.
Curious to what it actually smelled like, Kimmel lit the candle on his desk aside Paltrow. “It smells nice,” Kimmel said, looking rather conflicted. “It smells kind of masculine.”
Paltrow then told him that the candle wasn’t actually supposed to smell like anyone’s nether regions, prompting Kimmel to joke that she would be guilty of “false advertising.”
