Chinese citizens are still having fun despite being quarantined due to COVID-19. Entertainers and club-goers are, in fact, bringing the nightlife culture from real life into the digital space.
A Shanghai club known as
TAXX first started the movement, now termed as “cloud clubbing.” Chinese ravers can now tune in and listen to music from their own devices, and enjoy the clubbing experience from the comfort of their homes.
One club, ALL, hosted a one-day event with nine DJs on its online hub, ALL by Yourself.
More and more pseudo clubs are cropping up on Chinese video-sharing site
Bilibili for those quarantined. The platform is
reportedly encouraging artists to host their own sets and hold concerts online.
