If all that talk about
social distancing hasn’t been drilled in people’s heads, McDonald’s Golden Arches are
lovin’ movin’ it to drive the point home.
McDonald’s Brazil has replaced its Facebook profile picture to feature the Golden Arches logo being halved and spread apart, mimicking two characters standing away from each other.
The tweak is in hopes of encouraging customers to isolate themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic so that the novel coronavirus is less likely to spread.
It follows a stunt by Burger King France, which has
transformed its “Home of the Whopper” signage to get customers to stay at home.
In the UK, one McDonald’s location is also urging patrons to observe social responsibility by designating standing spaces out of red tape at its lines.
McDonald’s in the US has plans to
close its dining areas, and has also asked franchisees to follow suit. Customers hankering for a Big Mac and fries can still enjoy them through takeout or delivery, or by picking up their meals at drive-thrus.
