In continuation of its Play for the World ad campaign that aims to instill positivity in people self-isolating amid the coronavirus outbreak, Nike is paying tribute to those continuing to stay active indoors through a moving black-and-white spot.
Produced by independent ad agency Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, the 60-second advert captures people around the world working out in their homes, from their bedrooms, kitchens, driveways, and basements to living rooms and hallways.
It exudes a somber mood with a mellow track playing in the background, and rallies everyone to stay at home and play for the 7.8 billion people in the world. The ad campaign ends with a message reading, “This is our chance. Play for the world.”
Nike has donated US$15 million to COVID-19 relief efforts and made its premium Training Club app free-of-charge to everyone. The first Play for the World campaign was introduced via online posts from a string of celebrities, such as Michael Jordan, Serena William, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Tiger Woods.
