Facebook Amplifies Transparency In Pages & Instagram Posts Before 2020 Election

Facebook strives to be more transparent ahead of the 2020 elections by providing more details about accounts with large amounts of followers.
If you see a post by a creator with a high-reach page, you can check where it is from and the country the majority of its followers are based in.
According to the social media company, the latest move will start off in the US to “protect elections and increase transparency.” This will enable users to make more informed decisions about the posts they consume, believe in, or share with others.
On Instagram, users can check the new ‘About this Account’ feature to understand more about accounts with large followings. The option reveals the account holder’s country, date joined, previous usernames and the advertisements they are promoting.
