Lincoln Project Reuses Trump Footage In ‘Seinfeld’ Parody Along With Laugh Track

US president Donald Trump has found himself an enemy in The Lincoln Project, a Republican political action group fighting to stop his reelection in 2020. The committee has unabashedly expressed its opposition through brutal memes and videos mocking Trump, and has succeeded in ruffling the president’s feathers.
The group’s latest ad sees life imitating art by planting POTUS in the world of 90s sitcom Seinfeld, with a laugh track to boot. The faux episode, titled Trumpfeld, repurposes footage from Trump’s tense interview with Fox News host Chris Wallace, adding laughter each time he denies unimpressive poll results cited by the network.
In one scene, Trump gets ticked off when Wallace brings up survey results suggesting that 47-percent of respondents believe presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden possesses the “mental soundness to serve effectively as president.” Those who disagreed only made up 39 percent.
Trump then calls for Biden to “take the same test that I took.” This is followed by laughter, as the cognitive exam in reference is the MoCA test, which is used by health professionals to measure mental deterioration. Trump, who has boasted about “acing” it, seems to have come to the belief that it is an IQ test of sorts.
Wallace is shown responding, “It’s not the hardest test. They have a picture, and it says, ‘What’s that?’ and it’s an elephant.” Cue more laughter.
The Lincoln Project then poses the question, “Don’t you believe America deserves a president who doesn’t brag he can spot an elephant?”
Addressing the ad, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign told The Hill, “This is the swamp—yet again—trying to take down the duly elected President of the United States.”
The creator of the MoCA test also reaffirmed that Trump acing the test isn’t brag-worthy as it is “supposed to be easy.”
