Google Celebrates 22nd Birthday With Logo Throwing A Socially-Distant Party

Google, an indispensable asset for most internet users, turned 22 years old on Sunday. Birthdays this year look a whole lot different, so the tech giant kept faithful to the overarching theme of 2020 by throwing a socially-distanced party.
For this year’s birthday Google Doodle, the self-sufficient tech colossus had its logo proceed with party festivities—but very safely. The capital G was illustrated to be in a video call with the other five letters. Luckily, cake and presents were still involved, with gifts relatably being mailed to the character.
You’ve got to commend this well-thought-out GIF. The double o’s—presumably related due to their similar appearances—shared the same virtual call screen because they probably live in the same household. The letter e, on the other hand, had its face filling out the entire display as a wink to those whose faces are always too close to the camera.
The Google Doodle was designed to be displayed internationally and could be seen by visitors in most parts of the world.
In related news, Google responded to 2020’s work-from-home arrangements by making its G-Suite video conferencing platform Google Meet free for all, with an unlimited time limit and the ability to include up to 100 people per session. However, the call duration for free users will be reduced to 60 minutes per chat after 30 September.
