Google Meet Is Now Free To Outrun Zoom As Costless Option With 100-Way Calls

Google stands with other video conferencing platforms by releasing its Google Meet service for free to all users.
Google Meet is normally available under the G-Suite subscription with a fee, but now, it will be free until 30 September 2020. You will only need a Google account to use the service.
Google Meet’s free version allows up to 100 Google users per video conference, the same number of participants allowed in a video conference by competitor Zoom.
The difference, however, is that Google Meet is only accessible via a Google account, unlike Zoom, which enables access to anyone with a link or dial-in number. However, Google Meet comes in handy when using other applications under Google such as its Calendar, Gmail, and its Android/iOS apps.
Google Meet’s free option will have a meeting duration limit in the future, but calls will currently be unlimited before Google rolls out a 60-minute cutoff after 30 September 2020.
On the other side, existing G-Suite users will still enjoy the unlimited duration of meetings.
