World’s Blackest Paint And Sparkles Turn A Car Into The Endless Night Sky

Over a year ago, BMW introduced a car coated in Vantablack, the super-black material exclusively and notoriously owned by Anish Kapoor. Now, be prepared to bling your wheels with this hypnotic DIY idea that might leave you starstruck.
DipYourCar.com experimented with painting a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution with Musou Black, which is deemed to be the world’s blackest acrylic paint. Considering the pigment’s ability to absorb light, it expectedly gave the vehicle a 2D look, almost like a shadow.
DipYourCar.com took things further by adorning the visually depthless car with pearly, highly reflective sparkles, creating a psychedelic galaxy-like effect.
However, this addition presented a new problem—the channel found that adhering the pearls on the car would cause the paint to lose its blackness. The conundrum was eventually solved with naphtha as a thinner, which was indiscernible after evaporating and allowed the sparkles to stick onto the car easily.
Vantablack is touted to be able to trap 99.96-percent light, but it has to be used under supervision and isn’t accessible by the public. Koyo Orient Japan’s Musou Black, on the other hand, is able to deflect 99.4 percent of light and can be purchased by the mass market.
The fascination that the paint brings is understandable. Recently, a YouTuber painted an entire room in Musou Black, resulting in the creation of an eerie yet riveting abyss.
