Over the past years, it hasn’t been easy to distinguish newer iPhones from older ones. The only way to tell them apart is by looking at the rear cameras, and it seems like 2021’s lineup will continue this pattern.

Per CAD drawings “leaked” on Chinese social network Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 13 will pretty much retain the appearance of the iPhone 12. The most noticeable hardware change, it seems, is a new layout for the dual rear camera configuration. Instead of the two lenses being aligned in a straight vertical line, they’ll now be arranged diagonally.

Renders freshly created by leaker David Kowalski and tech news site Coverpigtou.it depict the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 13 with this camera setup.

A consistent rumor is that this year’s notch will be downsized, and the visualized images also portray this anticipated design change.



Elsewhere, the CAD drawings suggest that the iPhone 13 will be sized 146.64mm x 71.5mm x 7.56mm, about the same dimensions as the iPhone 12.

There’s also a possibility that the entire iPhone 13 lineup will upgrade to low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) displays, Apple-patented OLED screens that allow devices to change refresh rates without requiring additional hardware.
