Amazon Teases Luxurious Echo Dots Makeovers By Diane Von Furstenberg

Amazon has announced a luxurious spin on its latest Echo devices. Partnering with designer Diane von Furstenberg (DVF), the retailer has teased three new eclectic Echo Dot concepts as part of its Day 1 Editions program.
The company’s Day 1 Editions program allows it to crowdfund for ideas that aren’t on the market yet, and if the items reach the desired preorder goal within 30 days, Amazon will produce the gadgets and ship them to consumers.
If the product falls short of its goal and doesn’t get made, the consumer doesn’t get charged at all. It’s a low-risk way for Amazon to gauge customer demand while allowing users a say in what new devices they want on the market.
According to Engadget, DVF had previously collaborated with Google for frames on its smart glasses, and partnered Samsung for a custom-made SPH-A680 cameraphone.
Now, she’s teamed up with Amazon to release three new stylish Echo Dots, available in Midnight Kiss, Ikat, and Twigs. Featuring colorful, eye-catching designs, home decor enthusiasts are no doubt going to want these on display.
