New Balance has been widely recognized as the maker and manufacturer of the perfect, quintessential ‘
dad shoe’. Now, the shoe company has taken it in its stride.
It’s not worried if Father’s Day was celebrated over a month ago. As some may say, every day is Father’s Day. And New Balance definitely seems to be one of them, with its quirky redesign of the 57/40 shoes.

Perfectly imperfect, the dad-at-the-grill-inspired kicks feature a distressed sole with grass stains and dirt smears. There’s dirtied fabric with tarnished edges, all ready to go.
The classic navy ‘N’ and otherwise bright white laces have been dotted with red and yellow: an ode to the hot dog topping duo, ketchup and mustard.
The shoe’s double-stacked sole provides the chunky silhouette, a defining factor for both old-school and new-and-trending dad shoes. Reflective stripes on the New Balance branding marry aesthetics with functionality, catering to the practical.
The Father’s Day 57/40 runs from sizes US7–12 and is listed for US$149, available to order now via merchants like
