Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Free Guy’ Film Releases Posters Based On Popular Video Games

Having hidden beneath a Pikachu suit in Detective Pikachu, Ryan Reynolds is flying, well, free with his face blown up in multiple cartoon character forms across posters for the Free Guy film.
Ahead of its August 13 theatrical release, the movie is delighting fans with a series of video game-inspired posters richly reminiscent of imagery of Among Us, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, DOOM, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Megaman, Minecraft, Street Fighter II, and Super Mario 64. Reynolds appears as the leading man in each, but in incarnations modeled after their muses.
They’re an interesting, spoiler-free teaser for the plot, which features a guy named Guy who discovers he’s been living in an open video game world. Reynolds not only stars in it, but he’s also a co-producer. Collider mentions that the film will also include plenty of gaming Easter eggs.
