The Supercharger station station in Firebaugh is the largest in the United States of a rapidly-expanding network of
Tesla EV chargers. This hasn’t escaped the eye of a nearby McDonald’s, which sees it as a new opportunity.
“Recharge with McDonald’s while you recharge your Tesla,” a new banner states, with the fast-food franchise offering to deliver customers’ orders straight to their charge bay.
The advertisement was discovered by a user who posted a photo of the banner in r/teslamotors, and Tesla owners have expressed surprise at how this hasn’t been done before. “A lot of existing Supercharger landlords could learn from this,” writes user UnitedMario. “We have time and we are hungry. Take advantage!”

While not an official partnership between the two companies, the McDonald’s restaurant taking advantage of the Superchargers nearby seems to be a win-win situation all around.
Customers get to enjoy a quick bite while their car is charging, and Tesla may see increased use of the large, and undoubtedly costly, Firebaugh station as there is now an additional incentive to go there. Meanwhile, this McDonald’s outlet could see a steady increase in footfall.
“I could easily see people going: ‘oh, there’s a McDonalds. They’ll definitely have chargers and I can grab something to eat,’” one user visualizes of a potential future Supercharger-McDonald’s alliance.
Development in Tesla’s Superchargers sees reduced charging times in several instances over a short period of time. However, that’s not to say that customers won’t hang around just a little longer to make sure every last moreish fry has been devoured.
