Apple TV+’s ‘Ted Lasso’ Seemingly Showcases A Notch-Free iPhone Design

Step aside, shortbread biscuits, a new rectangle block could take over as the face of Ted Lasso—besides Jason Sudeikis, of course.
The comedy series, Apple TV+’s pride and joy, once again got people talking when a radically designed iPhone appeared on The Signal, episode six of season two. Two questions came to mind: “Is this the new iPhone 13?” and “Will Apple start sharing first glimpses of its products through its streaming platform?”
According to AppleInsider, two scenes in the episode showcased the notchless iPhone, along with the usual iOS interface.

However, rather than an accidental or purposeful leak, the device just seems to be the result of a post-production editing gaffe.
As you might have already observed, the tech giant loathes it when the public gets its hands on details about future products it hasn’t confirmed. “Apple has made every effort to take strict measures to maintain confidentiality for any information about Apple’s products before their official release,” it wrote in recent court filings, explaining that the element of surprise is “an important part of the company DNA.”
Furthermore, a closeup of the device reveals a digital overlay, suggesting that this was nothing more than an error. Or it could be an opportunity to throw off any scent.
Most of all, a notchless design defies a whole bunch of reports hinting that the iPhone 13 would have a smaller notch. If you’re waiting for Apple to completely ditch the feature that houses Face ID technology, that will come at a later time.
The company is reportedly experimenting with moving its sensors under the display, allowing iPhones to support both Face ID and Touch ID. However, renowned tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo projects that this technology might only appear in Apple’s smartphones in 2023.
