Musk’s Boring Company Approved For 29-Mile ‘Vegas Loop’ Public Transport Tunnel

The Boring Company has been developing its Loop system for a while now, which is described to be a futuristic mode of public transport functioning entirely underground.
On Wednesday, the commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, voted “unanimously” in favor of the Elon Musk venture beginning to establish its Vegas Loop system, which will see around 29 miles of tunnel aiming to transport 57,000 people per hour.
This will, of course, be an all-electric system, and use Tesla vehicles to ferry commuters across the city and potentially beyond.
Spanning 51 stations stations in the area, the transport system will include stops between the Allegiant Stadium and the University of Nevada. There are also plans to eventually expand to Los Angeles.
However, it has been stated that the Loop will be a point-to-point system, which means that passengers don’t have to stop at every station between embarking on the journey and reaching their destination. This will save them a lot of time.
Steve Davis, president of The Boring Company, tells the Las Vegas Review that the system will be built in phases across three years.
The aim is to finish five to 10 stations within the first six months, then between 15 and 20 every following year. Once a station is complete, it’ll open immediately, expanding the network in “real-time.”
Following the approval gained from the Commissioners this week, the company will now need to seek the relevant permits for its procedures. After that, all that’s left to do is dig.
