You Can Now Give Any MacBook That Iconic Notch With This Download

If you’re miffed about having purchased a MacBook prematurely and it doesn’t have the notch of the 2021 MacBook Pros, you’re in luck. This app will give you that arguable status symbol without the need to spill that extra US$2,000.
Just for laughs, developer Chris Jones has created an app called ‘Notch Pro’ that replicates the new MacBook Pro’s controversial feature.

Of course, this faux notch is only for aesthetics—if that’s your jam—and it won’t give you the 1080p camera that comes inside the real MacBook Pro notch.
With that being said, you’ll also enjoy the sense of security of not splurging on a laptop with an occasionally problematic notch. Apple users have complained about the black pill sometimes masking the menu bar, causing some options to be obscured but still clickable.
Notch Pro even claims to stand out from the original MacBook Pro notch due to its customizability. Users can adjust the width of the mock notch through a slider, almost covering most of the top screen, even. The freedom to personalize hasn’t been Apple’s strong suit, but this app is top-notch in this regard.
