We’ve spent more time indoors and at home than perhaps ever before, which makes it even more important that our surroundings are befitting of the time we spend there.
Luxury fashion brands, during the pandemic in particular, have recognized this.
Dolce & Gabbana introduced its first home collection earlier this year, while
Hermès has dabbled in similar.
Balenciaga is not one to be left behind, having just unveiled a spread of dining accessories just in time for year-end festive hosting. Some offerings include champagne flutes, wine glasses, and coasters, alongside a water bottle and an expandable shopper bag.
But of course, these wine glasses and
champagne flutes aren’t just your regular drink receptacles on offer. Stamped with a Balenciaga logo reminiscent of the Stella Artois crest, these are made from crystal with silver platinum rims. Both are priced at US$335 per set, with a pair in each.

Accompanying these are the silver-hued metal coaster, sporting phrases such as “Enjoy Responsibly” and “Crafted With Care—Premium Quality” engraved into them. These are, of course, nod towards more conventional alcohol branding, as noted by
Hypebeast. Sold as a
quartet, the coasters are retailing for a whopping US$650.

So, all together, a set of four glasses and four coasters will be burning a US$1320-sized hole in your pocket. That number most definitely calls for a drink.
Apart from drinkware, Balenciaga has also released some decorative pieces in the form of laser-carved
cubes touting some iconic sneaker designs from the brand, which retail at US$650 apiece, and a
travel pillow that sells for US$695.
