Super Bowl Attendees To Receive Commemorative NFTs, Free With Their Tickets

With the Super Bowl LVI taking place this weekend on February 13, hype has been building. And that doesn’t seem to be dying down anytime soon, with the announcement that each fan who attends Sunday’s event will receive their very own unique NFT. 

Each token will include the individual’s unique section, row, and seat numbers to commemorate the game day as well as mark the Super Bowl’s return to Los Angeles for the first time in nearly three decades. 

The two finalists, the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, have also had special tokens minted in their honor to celebrate their achievements. The winner will see their own championship tokens being released later in the month, according to the NFL.

All of the NFTs are minted on the Polygon blockchain, per Cointelegraph, and they can be viewed on the NFL’s official website made specially for NFT showcasing.

This comes after the event was recognized as the first Super Bowl at “full fan capacity with complete mobile ticketing,” according to a statement by the NFL. 

“We first began offering virtual commemorative ticket NFTs to fans during the regular season,” states Robert Gallo, senior vice president of the NFL’s club business development, saying that the one-of-a-kind fan experience saw “great success.”

“Collecting ticket stubs has always been something our fans love to do, especially for the season’s biggest game,” he continues. “Offering customized Super Bowl NFTs allows us to enhance the gameday experience.”
