Vegan Meat Brand Tempts The Senses With Bacon-Scented Perfume

When developing meat substitutes, food tech firms take great care in replicating their look, flavors, textures, and sizzle. One company heightens this sensory appeal, taking it up to the nostrils.

For Valentine’s Day, which also saw Idaho launch a French fry-inspired fragrance, plant-based meat producer THIS concocted an all-vegan perfume that smells like bacon. From the scent of the so-called ‘Eau de Isn’t Bacon’, consumers wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s from a pig or veggie.

As reported by Plant-Based News, THIS produced Eau de Isn’t Bacon following research that stated one in three Brits considered bacon to be among the “sexiest smells.”

The irresistible fragrance features a “strong gust of smokiness” with “smokey, woody, and savory scents… guaranteed to seduce even the most carnivorous.” THIS added that the experience is elevated “by the crisp finish of signature THIS Isn’t Bacon rashers.”

The company disclaimed that it would not be held responsible “for any romances that go awry due to overpowering porkiness.”

It later reported to have received 25,000 requests for the perfume, but only had 120 bottles to go around. Unfortunately for vegetarians achin’ for bacon, the bottles were gone within 20 minutes.
