NASA Will Send Your Name Into Space On Artemis I Moon Mission
While most of us will never be able to afford a ticket to space, NASA is offering the public a chance to send their names on its Artemis I mission as it heads to the moon.
The upcoming project is scheduled to launch later this year at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and to commemorate the occasion, you’ll be able to put your name on a flash drive on the Orion capsule for free.
“We’re getting ready for Artemis I—and we want to take you with us. Add your name to the upcoming mission and it will be flown abroad the NASA Orion spacecraft as it orbits the Moon,” tweeted the space agency.
According to USA Today, to snag a place on the flash drive, simply visit the official website to enter your details, including a four- to seven-digit passcode, which is required to access the “boarding pass.”
Those who successfully register their names will receive a QR code from NASA to virtually join future mission launches.
Following the launch of Artemis I, Artemis II has been slated for May 2024, and Artemis III, which will send astronauts onto the moon, will launch in 2025.
