It can be argued that you no longer need to be able to work a paintbrush to make good art, thanks or no thanks to artificial intelligence. The inception of tools like DALL-E and Midjourney has now made it more than possible to create masterpieces through mere text prompts—in just a split second.

Diving even deeper into this concept, you no longer need to know how to make good art on AI generators to make money. Fueled by the new wave of AI art, a new marketplace called PromptBase doesn’t peddle AI art but the actual strings of text you feed to bots for them to create specific illustrations and “photographs.”

Thinking up prompts, as it seems, is easier said than done. You’ll need the right keywords and the right sequences to arrive at a distinct style you have in mind.

Simply telling DALL-E to create images of “cats,” for instance, will only pull up a whole assortment of redundant cat pictures that may not align with your branding. But embellishing your prompt with keywords like “macro photography” or “polygon,” among several others, could get you there.

PromptBase is aimed at spoon-feeding customers with exact prompts, priced from US$1.99, for the most nuanced, conclusive results on DALL-E, Midjourney, GPT-3, and Stable Diffusion. Users can also sell their own descriptions, though the platform takes a 20% cut, says TechCrunch.

These are “top prompts” that have been tried and tested, therefore guaranteeing a specific style or theme, according to PromptBase. This means brands could ultimately save on API costs.
