MINI Has A Drivable Metaverse That You Get Around As A Car
While Meta has only just introduced legs for avatars, MINI is already zipping into the future and running about on wheels.
The MINIverse, as its version of the metaverse is called, replaces humanlike characters with the conceptual ‘MINI Aceman’ as avatars, and players can even customize them. The virtual world, accessible across devices, features six neighborhoods celebrating the brand’s values.
One of these sections was dressed up for Halloween, says digital agency Demodern – Creative Technologies, which helped build the MINIverse with Meta’s Horizon Worlds.
Colors, bonnet stripes, and standout roofs are all possible mods for the MINI Aceman, keeping it conceptual in both virtual and physical worlds. It can then navigate the MINIverse by gliding up steep ramps and meandering through tracks.
The immersive experience also invites players to directly interact with one another via chat and emoji tools.
