Elon Musk Could Raise Twitter Blue Pricing Strictly For Apple iPhone Users

While Twitter Blue remains paused as Elon Musk tries to fight the massive fires over at the company, new reports have emerged that the price of the subscription service could increase for iOS users when it returns. 

According to The Information, certain employees were briefed that users could have to fork out US$11 a month for the subscription if they sign up through the smartphone app, but will only have to pay US$7 through the web. 

This price hike for iPhone users is likely due to Musk’s grievance with Apple over its 30% commission fee for payments made through the App Store, which the billionaire recently brought up to CEO Tim Cook. 

Although the Chief Twit accused Apple of censorship and that the technology giant might hate “free speech in America,” it seems the two parties have made up, after Musk met with Cook personally and “resolved the misunderstanding.”

At the moment, it still is unclear when exactly Twitter Blue will return to the platform, as it continues to tackle the influx of impersonators since the takeover, with upcoming changes including a multicolored verification system.
