MSCHF Launches White Air Force 1 Lookalikes It Insists Are ‘Super Normal’

If MSCHF’s Satan Sneakers, peelable Gobstompers, or ankle brace turned sneaker has kept you away from buying into the wild and wacky world of the art collective, perhaps its latest ‘Super Normal’ kicks might be normal enough to be worn without judgment.

 
MSCHF first released its line of Super Normal shoes in the summer of last year in a black colorway and in a limited count of 666 iterations. Now the silhouette is back with a broader release in ‘Common White’, and it looks a little familiar.

If you’ve made the connection that it looks a lot like Nike’s Air Force 1s, join the club. The shoe, unfortunately, comes at a time when Nike is whipping up a legal storm with Bape for copying its most iconic sneakers and a CBD farm for infringing on its ‘Just Do It’ tagline.
 
MSCHF plans to steer clear of any lawsuits by making clear that the design of its shoe embodies a wavy, almost psychedelic look, which looks like the canvas has been “melted” onto the sneakers.

The Super Normal 2 is completely decked out in white save for the MSCHF branding in black on the tongue and a silver charm on its laces.
 
The stylistic choice to emulate the AF1s, which might be the most recognizable sneakers currently, takes a stab at reinvigorating a highly popularized design while putting MSCHF’s own, albeit, toned-down spin on it.

The pair is debuting on the collective’s sneaker app on January 31 and will retail for US$145.
