Luxury brands are blurring the lines between lifestyle and fashion. From Moncler dressing up a car in its own puffer jacket to Panera rolling out a designer baguette purse and Louis Vuitton designing a burger box, gone are the days when outfits stopped at just apparel.

This time, Maison Margiela—a fashion house that has long been known for an out of the box, avant-garde aesthetic—has come up with a belt that frankly, looks like dirty, old sneaker laces. Of course, it’s all intentional and, despite how it looks, the accessory will set you back US$180 a pop.

As Hypebeast noted, the label is known for its “deconstructed” pieces, including distressed shoes and paint-splattered motifs, making the latest design a complementary touch to existing collections.

Creative Director John Galliano has revealed a particular liking for the imperfect, a detail that can be spotted on the aglet of the laces as ‘MARGIELA’ appears to be written in faded permanent marker.

If you fancy cinching together an outfit with scuffed up laces, head here to snag a belt.
