LinkedIn is using artificial intelligence to rally around experts and pundits on specific topics being talked about on the platform. The new Collaborative Articles initiative aims to boost user engagement by having generative models seek out users who can add value to discussions for others to read and learn from.
Each new article will begin with a prompt or “conversation starter” from the new model the editorial team developed. LinkedIn then uses its in-house Skills Graph to seek relevant experts who can comment on the topic with lessons, anecdotes, and other advice.
On your feed, the site will highlight these sorts of posts, and you will also see everyone who has added their input. And if you also want to contribute something, you can press a button that allows you to edit it.
LinkedIn is also offering a Community Top Voice badge to encourage more professionals to participate in this new venture and offer up their unique perspectives on various subjects. The award will last 60 days, which might entice users to participate in these posts to keep their streak going continuously.
Microsoft currently owns LinkedIn, so it is no surprise that it is finding new ways to add AI to the platform after revamping Bing.
